I am using this blog as an opportunity to document the day to day life of a pharmacy student. Since I graduate next year and this has been a thought of mine for a long time, this is the perfect time to make it happen!

First Day of Creams!
So I had another day in the lab. I finally got to start making some creams. As I had mentioned on another post, this is usually what someone initially training to work in a lab starts with. But maybe I had to prove myself. Not sure, just starting shit. So the cream I made turned out pretty nice, but I had to run it through an ointment mill, which I have used in the past, but my compounding experience ended in 2010, so it’s been a while. I was setting up the machine to get it all started and I totally put one of the parts on upside down. Rookie mistake. But once I ran my cream through the mill, it came out beautifully. I am no expert on the machine, but I think it basically runs through some rollers and it smooths out the cream into a nicer looking, ‘pharmaceutically elegant’ (missing Dr. Do a lot when I said that!) cream to be dispensed. Once I ran it through there, it was PHENOMENAL (watch ‘Shit Italian Moms Say’ on YouTube if you want to get to know me, because my family and I quote that video a lot). I put the cream in the dispensers and then it was ready to go. Labeled it up and was done. I can’t remember any other things specifically I did, but I’m sure whatever I made came out nicely. Then I’m sure I went home, cut some fabric, watched some of The Goldbergs and went to bed.
